The Toyota MR2 is a sports car that was produced by the Japanese automaker Toyota from 1984 to 2007. The name MR2 stands for "mid-engine, rear-wheel drive, 2-seater". The MR2 is a two-seat, mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive sports car. It is renowned for its light weight and excellent handling, due in part to its optimized center of gravity and low polar moment of inertia. The MR2 was available in both naturally aspirated and turbocharged form, and was sold in both hardtop and targa top configurations.
