The McLaren MP4-12C is a mid-engine sports car produced by British automobile manufacturer McLaren Automotive. It is the first production car wholly designed and built by McLaren since the McLaren F1, which ended production in 1998. It was announced in late 2009 and launched in mid-2011. The MP4-12C is the first model in McLaren's new MP4 Series and is powered by a 3.8L V8 twin-turbo engine producing approximately 600 horsepower. It is available in both coupé and Spider models, with a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time of 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h). The MP4-12C has received praise from the automotive media, with Car and Driver magazine calling it "an extraordinary performance machine".
