The Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid is a hybrid electric vehicle that combines the power of a gasoline engine with an electric motor to deliver increased fuel efficiency, power, and performance. The Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid utilizes a 1.6 liter gasoline engine combined with an electric motor for a total output of 202 horsepower. The vehicle is equipped with a 9.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, giving it an overall driving range of up to 29 miles on electric power alone or up to 600 miles with gasoline. The vehicle also features regenerative braking, allowing it to recharge its battery during braking and coasting. The Optima Plug-In Hybrid was released in 2017 and is available in select markets.
