The BMW X6 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW since 2008. Based on the BMW 5 and 6 Series, the X6 combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, all-wheel drive and all-weather ability) with the stance of a coupe (aggressive styling, dramatic sloping roof). Its first generation was based on the E71 platform while the second-generation X6 (2015–present) is based on the F16 platform. The X6 is marketed as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) by BMW.
