The Bentley R-Type is a luxury four-door car produced by Bentley Motors Limited between 1952 and 1955. The R-Type was the second series of post-war Bentley cars, replacing the Mark VI and preceding the S-Series. It was the first car to be offered with factory-built rolling chassis, meaning that the body and engine were both designed and built by Bentley Motors. The R-Type was powered by a Straight-6, 4.6 litre engine, giving the car a top speed of over 100 miles per hour. The exterior styling of the car was inspired by the Bentley Mark VI, incorporating many classic Bentley styling elements, including the swept wings and traditional radiator grille.
