The Polaris Scrambler 500 is an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) manufactured by Polaris Industries. It was introduced in 1997 and is powered by a 498 cc (30.4 cu in) liquid cooled, single-cylinder four-stroke engine. The Scrambler 500 is designed for rough roads, trails, and off-road use. It has a five-speed transmission with a reverse gear and is available with either two- or four-wheel drive. The four-wheel drive version has a front differentials for increased power to the front wheels, while the two-wheel drive version is a straight axle design. The Scrambler 500 has a maximum power output of 33 hp (25 kW) and a top speed of 63 mph (101 km/h).
